UKirk National at the 227th General Assembly

It was a joy for UKirk National to be at the 227th General Assembly in Milwaukee. We hosted a booth at the Town Hall alongside other Christian Formation Collective partners, Presbyterian connected organizations like the Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Universities and the Presbyterian Outlook, and many Presbyterian Life & Witness agency offices. That evening, we co-hosted a reception with APCU to celebrate 299 years of higher education ministry and were honored to welcome many Presbyterian Life & Witness agency leaders. Before the first plenary, we co-hosted a coffee break for the Young Adult Advisory Delegates (YAADS) and Theological Student Advisory Delegates (TSAD’s) with the Young Adult Volunteer program.

UKirk network leaders and board members Mary Sellers Shaw (UKirk Nashville), Jacqueline Rodriguez (Duke PCM), Kevin White (UKirk@Bryant), and Sean Chow (UKirk board member) served as commissioners to GA alongside UKirk National’s executive director, Rev. Dr. Gini Norris-Lane. Several YAAD’s and TSAD’s are UKirk members or alum such as McClain, who is a member of Bama UKirk and a junior at the University of Alabama and Annabel, a member of the PEACE Center at the University of Delaware who just graduated and is headed to law school in the Fall. Serving the larger church alongside alumni like Rev. Josh Robinson (Austin College) from Presbyterian-related colleges and UKirk network ministries was a profoundly meaningful experience.
