DESCRIPTION

ThreeHouse is seeking an Executive Director/Campus Minister to lead its campus ministry. ThreeHouse is a unique collaborative campus ministry with support from the UMC, ELCA, and several other partner congregations. ThreeHouse primarily serves students at the University of Northern Iowa campus in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and at times, other higher education communities in the Cedar Valley.

ThreeHouse seeks to serve college students with a ministry footprint centered on compassion, inclusion, creativity, curiosity, thoughtfulness, and faithful living. Our mission is to offer experiences that connect the campus community to God and one another, ultimately
transforming individuals’ lives, the community, and the world, while exploring and growing
together in Christ. The Executive Director/Campus Minister serves as the primary spiritual and organizational
leader for ThreeHouse.

This involves:
● Working with ThreeHouse and UNI staff, student leaders and Collaborative Partners to
provide ongoing faith formation and programming.
● Overseeing fundraising and development efforts by cultivating relationships with potential
donors.
● Developing and maintaining relationships and a visible presence on campus and at
ThreeHouse, and providing pastoral care to students, faculty and staff, as needed.
● Working with and reporting to the ThreeHouse Board of Directors.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
● Master of Divinity (or ordination-qualifying degree)
● Ordination in one of these ThreeHouse affiliated denominations (i.e. Disciples of Christ,
ELCA, Episcopal, PCUSA, UCC, UMC), but would consider someone on ordination track.
● Preference given to candidates with five to ten years of relevant experience in parish or
campus ministry and/or relevant administrative experience empowering young adults.

● Commitment to the ThreeHouse mission, including inviting, welcoming, and affirming all
people as beloved children of God.
● Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, along with an ability to
preach, teach, and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of people
within the university and community.
● Demonstrated ability to work effectively with college students and with individuals of a
variety of different backgrounds.
● Proven experience in organizational leadership, community building, fiscal management and
fundraising, pastoral care and counseling, and faith formation with young adults from a
variety of different religious and spiritual traditions.
