 Psalm 150

1   Praise the Lord!
Praise God in God’s sanctuary;
praise God in the mighty firmament!
2   Praise him for his mighty deeds;
praise him according to his surpassing greatness!

3   Praise him with trumpet sound;
praise him with lute and harp!
4   Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!
5   Praise him with clanging cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
6   Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

Prayer:

Hallelujah! We praise you, God, in every way we can. Hear our laughter and our singing, our shouts of joy and exclamations of goodness. Help us to glorify you in our rest and our work, in our studies and our play, in our communities and our time alone. This Sunday, we see your goodness in so many things. Even when we are busy, even when we are stressed, even when Monday looms on the horizon, help us to remember your goodness and share it with one another. Amen.

As the Psalm invites us to praise God with music of all kinds, you are invited to listen to one of your favorite pieces of music (it may not be explicitly Christian!) and hear the ways that God’s goodness resounds in the joy of music.
